5 Months Old on Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving ... AND 5 months to my cute baby girl! Rylee gets to share her 5 months birthday with Thanksgiving and her half birthday with Christmas! I really cannot believe she is another month older. Time just flies by. She is just getting so BIG. She is just so cute and everyday she is getting happier and funner and her personality is developing more and more. All of which is just LOVE. I will type a few fun things about Rylee right now. (beware - there are a ton of pictures. Just to go along with things about her. :)

She loves TV! Haha...
She loves Daddy so much. She gets so excited when he talks to her or even looks at her and smiles. She is definitely a Daddy's girl and I love watching these two together.

She sucks on EVERYTHING. Of course that is not a surprise for a baby, but I just think it's so cute. If she doesn't have a toy, rag, blanket, etc to suck on she will suck on her bottom lip, fingers, or THUMB. Yes, my daughter is a thumb sucker. It's so cute!

She loves her bottle. She even tries to hold it on her own.
Her 2 new favorite things: her crinkle book and her snowsuit. Yes, her snowsuit. This girl LOVES it. I put her in it and lay her on the floor and she just lays there still and does NOT move. Yesterday I put her in it and put her in the car seat. I went to Macey's, K-Mart, and Wal-Mart and she didn't even wake up! That is SHOCKING. She slept for a total of 3 hours in the car seat. She just feels so cozy in it.

She loves being on her belly! You can tell in the picture haha. I thought this picture was hilarious and just had to put it up.She will NOT stay on her back! Well, sometimes she does ... but pretty much never does! She always wants to roll over! Changing her is so so DIFFICULT! This is what she does EVERY TIME.

She definitely knows her name. She is so alert and aware of her surroundings. I can barely nurse her good now cause she just wants to look around and see what’s going on. Even in a quiet room with no noise. She keeps stopping to look at me and see what I am doing. Silly girl! She also loves talking on the phone. This was yesterday. Kelly was talking to her on the phone and she was just smiling so big! It was so cute. Of course I wasn't quick enough to get one of her smiling.

Rylee found her feet! I go into her room to get her out of her crib one morning and she was holding onto her feet! It was so funny.

She is now super close to sitting up and crawling. She can scoot herself a very short distance but is so determined to get where she wants to go that soon she will be getting there.

She smiles and giggles so much now it is so cute! Just in the past few days she smiles and giggles more than she ever has!

A few things without pictures.

She loves riding in the car now and is so good. Before I was so nervous to ever go on a long car ride. Now if we did I would no longer be nervous because she is just so good in the car and just sits there so patiently.

I have given her tastes of mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes and a few other things ... She sure loves it all! She definitely knows what food is and what you do with it. In the next week or so I am going to maybe start her on some rice cereal? She needs something else because JUST milk is NOT cutting it for her anymore.

She is the best sleeper! She goes down at 7:30. Wakes up to eat at 2:30 (ish) and goes back to sleep in 10 minutes TOPS and then sleeps till somewhere in between 8:30-9:30. And she naps really well during the day! 5 hour nap has been the max. Now it's usually a short nap that is one hour max and then another 2 1/2-3 hour nap. And my favorite part ... she can fall asleep on her own! I just lay her down and she'll talk in her crib for a while and then next thing she is sound asleep! I just got a baby monitor and I LOVE IT. It is so hilarious just listening to her make noises.

Oh, and exciting news ... her hair is growing back! She was born with quite a bit of hair and then most of it fell out except there was still a thick patch in the back. We called it her mullet. :) But now everyday it is getting longer! WAHOO!

There are tons of other things about her but this is it for now ... too tired to type anymore! I love my sweet girl and I am so thankful on this Thanksgiving Day to have her as my daughter. I love every waking second I have with her and cherish every second I have with her. I am the world's luckiest MOM!

Giggles!

There are very few things that will make this girl giggle really hard - sticking her feet up by her face is one of them. Last night she was giggling so hard it was the cutest thing!

Don't mind my little tuting noises. :)

I Am Thankful...

I love this time of year. I love the weather. I love the beautiful colored leaves that fall on the ground. I love the cool, crisp air. I love wearing long sleeves and boots. Most of all, I love the feeling I get around this time of year. I love spending time with family and close friends. I love Thanksgiving .. and then onto Christmas. I am so thankful for so many things and have been blessed with so many things. I just wanted to list a few of those things.

- I am so thankful to be a Mother. I love my little baby girl Rylee Laurel Giles. She is such a blessing in my life and I am SO blessed to have her as my daughter. She makes me smile more and more everyday. I love smiling at her and her smiling back at me. When she talks to me I just have so much joy and feel so grateful to have her beautiful little face in front of me. I don't know what I would do without her. She has made our family a family. She has made mine and Kelly's relationship so much stronger and happier. We love our little girl so very much!

- I am so thankful for my home. We were blessed to be able to buy our home a year ago and we have loved making it ours and decorating it to be a wonderful and fun place to be. I love being there and cooking and baking in OUR kitchen. I love climbing into bed in OUR room. I love being able to put Rylee to bed every night in HER room. I just love our home and am so blessed we have it.

- I am so thankful to have Kelly as my husband and him as Rylee's Father. I feel so very blessed to have such a strong, hard working, loving, kind, and caring man as my eternal companion. He works so hard for us everyday. Right now he is so sick but has been working 6 am till 8 pm. He has been working so hard so that I can stay home with Rylee. He is so motivated all the time. One day 2 years ago he came home from work and told me he wanted to start his own business. Since then he has been working hard and strong and his business has since grown a lot and he is doing so well! I am so grateful and so proud to say he is my husband. I LOVE HIM MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY.

- I am so thankful to have such a wonderful job. Yes, I am quitting December 1st but I am so grateful to have it. I will sorely miss all the wonderful people I work with but so blessed that I will be able to stay home with Rylee all day.

- I am so thankful for the job I just got! I am the new ICU night shift secretary at Utah Valley Hospital. I don't HAVE to work, but we will need insurance since I am quitting my job now and instead of paying for our own private insurance plan I decided to try to get a night job at the hospital and work for insurance. Plus, it would be a better insurance plan that way anyway. I feel SO blessed that they selected me for the job and I am so excited to start! December 6th. Yes, I know it will be hard working nights, but it is only 3 nights a week. If I decide it's just too hard I will quit.

- I am so thankful for amazing friends. I am so blessed to have the friends I do. Right now being back to work for 30 days I have awesome friends (Samantha and Heather :) just to name a few) that have been so willing to help out with watching Rylee. You will get something in return I promise!! I just feel so blessed to have such kind and loving and amazing friends.

- I am so thankful for my amazing family! I am so blessed and so grateful for my family - and I am one of the luckiest girls because I have the most wonderful in-laws! I am so close to them and I feel so blessed that they don't feel or act like they are my in-laws - they act like they are my actual family. Grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles - everyone.

- I am so thankful for the gospel. It has helped me through so many things and I am so blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so blessed to be a temple recommend holder and be able to attend the Temple and feel the spirit so strongly whenever I want to. I do, however need to attend more than I do! Having a baby has made it a little more difficult to do so.

There are so many other things I am thankful for, but these are just to name a few of those things. I am one blessed girl and I am so very grateful for everything I have!

Welcome Home Elder Giles!

My brother in law Mitch got home yesterday from serving a 2 year LDS mission to Ventura, California! It is so good to have him back! We were all best buds - we all hung out together ALL THE TIME. Me, Kelly, and Mitch. We would stay up late watching movies or just hang out.
So excited to do all that again!

Everyone at the airport! There were tons of people! Definitely enough to overwhelm him haha. :)

There he is!

Hugging his Mom
Rylee was wore out from all the excitement. As soon as we saw him everyone cheered...she cried. It scared her! Poor thing.
The yard was decorated all cute thanks to Kelly and Ashley!

That night for dinner we had sandwiches, noodle salad and chips.
Rylee decided she wanted to try the chips.
She was totally hilarious with the bag and wanted to get it sooo bad.
WELCOME HOME ELDER GILES!!!

4 Month Check Up!

Today Rylee had her 4 month check up. A little late since Dr. Anderson was out of the office last week! My little girl is growing! She is now 14 lbs 2 oz (57th percentile) and 25 1/2 inches (81st percentile)! She is as healthy as can be! She was so good at the doctor but was so mad when the nurse had to take her temperature and had to measure her head and her length. She just looked at her and started crying. It was so funny. Her umbilical hernia is getting smaller and healing up thank goodness! She kept rolling over on the table. Silly girl. She did good with her shots. Only screamed for a second and then I picked her up and nursed her and she was calm in 2 seconds. She fell asleep as soon as I put her in the car and is still asleep an hour and a half later.
I love my little growing girl!

I really don't know why her pictures at the doctor always rotate when I upload them! It happened with the last picture I uploaded of her at the doctor when she was 5 days old! Weird...oh well, here she is all happy at the doctor!

Rylee's First Halloween!

I have always loved Halloween. I just love dressing up, our annual chili on Halloween, and just having fun with friends and family. This year was even more fun because I had a cute little person to dress up! Deciding what to dress Rylee up as was a tough decision! I kept changing my mind. She was going to be Tinkerbell, then an indian, then a ballerina...but then I just decided to have her be a black cat! That way she would stay warm in her sweatsuit AND look so dang cute all at the same time! She was the cutest little black kitty!I made Rylee a little mouse bag to carry all her candy! I dressed up as a black cat too and Rylee was my kitten! Kelly was Joe Dirt!Kelly's parents costumes always crack me up! My cute little kitty!
My niece Halle was Pippy Longstockings!
Haha! Had to try the wig on Rylee.
My nephew Sam was a member of the SWAT team.
Joe Dirt
My sister was a Pirate
My sister and nephew
My parents were Superman and Lois Lane
My family
It was such a fun Halloween weekend. Kelly and I are the activities committee chair for our ward. Friday night we had our trunk or treat. We couldn't have picked a better night for it. It was so so warm! We had donuts, hot chocolate and tons of candy! I am not gonna lie, taking Rylee around trick or treating kinda felt really dumb! Everyone knew the candy wasn't for her. Oh well, it was still fun! Every year Kelly's family has chili and rolls so Saturday night we went to their house for chili. It was yum yum yum! Sunday night my parents had a fun dinner full of teeth, tiny bugs, and mummy's. It was a delicious dinner! This year's Halloween was tons of fun...except Saturday night a nasty cold/sore throat/cough hit me HARD. I think Rylee may be getting it a tiny bit but today she is happy. I had to stay home from work today. Stupid stupid sickness! As soon as I go back to work I get sick...awesome. Oh well!
