FLU

Rylee had the flu - for the very first time. And it was NOT fun. I felt so bad for her. Holding her poor little body over the sink while she was throwing up. I wanted to cry. She was so weak and so pale and so miserable.

Friday night we were driving home from Provo at 8:30. Rylee was a little fussy. She didn't look like she felt very good but we thought it was from teething (the night before we were up on and off all night long because she got her first molar) and because she was tired (betime is 7:30.)

As we were driving home she started coughing - kind of a gaggy cough. We both asked her if she was ok. I turned around and all of a sudden PROJECTILE vomit like 4 times. All over her and in her carseat. Kelly immediately pulled over and I ran in the backseat and grabbed her out of the carseat and took her outside onto the grass. I felt so bad for her! I took all her clothes off and she just started crying. My poor baby. We didn't have anything in the car other than baby wipes and tissues. No blankets or anything. My WONDERFUL husband (who about pukes at any disgusting smell) cleaned up the ENTIRE carseat. There was vomit everywhere. Her carseat was awful. I never knew a tiny little body could hold so much food in it.

We got home and she threw up again right before her bath. I took a bath with her and she just layed on me lifeless pretty much the entire time. I got her in her pajamas and just layed on the couch with her. She fell asleep immediately. And then woke up a short time later and threw up again. She threw up a couple more times after that. She was to the point where only bile was coming up - and then nothing. Kelly went and bought her some pedialyte and she drank that right up. She was throwing that up shortly after she drank it each time but at least she was throwing up something and not just bile.
She fell asleep anywhere we layed her and with us. It was around midnight when Kelly said he would stay awake all night long with her and I could go to sleep. I told him I wanted to stay right there with her so he layed on the recliner with her and I layed on the couch. The TV was finally driving me crazy and I couldn't fall asleep so I went upstairs. I could still hear everything and came down every time she threw up again - which was about every 5 to 30 minutes. One of the times I came downstairs (around 4:30 a.m.) I told Kelly I felt really sick and thought I was going to throw up. I ran to the bathroom and sure enough I did. Not only did I feel awful, I hated that I was sick too and felt way too crappy to take care of Rylee! Ugh. Kelly was awesome and stayed up the rest of the night with her so I could get some sleep and hopefully feel better.
Kelly told me he was holding her asleep and at one point she climbed off the couch, crawled across the room to a blanket that was on the floor and layed down on it and went right to sleep. He said he didn't want to fall asleep and her wake up and be all over the house by herself so he went and picked her up and layed back on the couch with her. She continued sleeping for a little while and then woke up, climbed off the couch again. grabbed the blanket off of him, put it on the floor and layed on it and went back to sleep. How cute is that? She just wanted to lay by herself. We just thought that was pretty dang cute. I only threw up for about 4 hours and then it stopped. Rylee threw up for a total of about 12 hours straight (poor girl). Around 8 a.m. she was looking much better. She was playing and talking like she felt much better. She was starting to get pretty fussy so Kelly gave her a sippy cup with water and she guzzled the entire thing! Yesterday we only gave her bland foods starting with pedialyte and saltines and she was able to keep it down. Around 10 a.m. yesterday she was looking tired. Kelly came and woke me up and gave me coke his parents brought over for me and told me I should take a bath with Rylee. I did, and she was so happy in the bath. We got out after a bit and I got her in jammies and layed her down. She slept for FIVE hours straight. She was getting some much needed sleep! She woke up at 3 and I fed her. At 4 she was acting tired again. She was on our bed with us and she went to the foot of the bed and layed her head down. Kelly went and layed her back down and she slept for an hour and 15 minutes, woke up, and then went back to sleep again shortly after that.
Today we are both doing much better but Rylee is still really sleepy. She got about at 8:30 this morning and I layed her back down at 9:30 after I fed her breakfast and she went right to sleep. That was a nasty quick bug!! So glad it's come and gone!!

And can I just say THANK YOU Chicco carseats for being SO easy to take apart! There was vomit all over and under the cover and even in the base and I was able to get it out of every crack and crevice!

My baby girl is WALKING!

I really can't believe she is now walking! She is getting so big. Sunday night, July 3rd she started walking a little bit and wasn't interested in it after that. This past Friday the 8th she was drinking her bottle and started walking with it and ever since then she is just walking all over the place! Today I was in her room cleaning up and she was just playing in the room right next to me. All the sudden she comes walking into her room! It was the cutest thing ever. She is getting way too big way too fast!! I now need to get a gate on the top of the stairs. I have needed to for MONTHS but now that she is walking I really need to. I am always just right with her when she is by the stairs but it would just be easier to get a gate. Well, here she is - my big girl WALKING! I love her high steps - and she says 'uh-oh' when she sees her mess of toys. :)

Another post about...you guessed it. RYLEE!

Remember how I said Rylee LOVES her bunny? Well, here is the picture I was going to post with that but I forgot to. I took a few pictures of Rylee in this cute tutu and onesie for her birthday party invitation. I just LOVE this one of her holding her bunny. She seriously loves this thing! She loves sucking on the ears. I was this thing once a week - but I really need to start washing it AT LEAST twice a week. The ears are gray and I can't get it out now. I have even soaked it oxyclean but they still stay gray!
My favorite picture I took - she just looks like a pretty porcelain doll!

And her cute birthday party invitation my sister in law made! It has a white border around it but of course you can't see it because the background is white. :) I found this cute invitation on tinyprints.com and my sister in law made one to look like it! Definitely a lot cheaper!
And my last post was SO extremely long (sorry about that by the way - I bet nobody even read it because it was so long) that I was just sick of typing. I wanted to talk more about Rylee and her cute little personality right now! She has grown so much lately and is just showing more and more personality (and attitude) that I just wanted to share. :)
-She loves giving kisses. Even when you don't ask for one she crawls right over and slobbers your face over and over. Love it!
-She loves climbing up on things. The bed, the couch, her chair, etc - and just bounces and giggles or yells.
-She loves her chair! Any time we are in the living room she crawls over to it and plops right in it like a big girl!
-She loves walking with her stroller walker and just pushes it around everywhere!
-When she doesn't want something, or something is in her way she picks it up and chucks it behind her. Or when you try to hand her her sippy cup while she is eating - or anything she doesn't want she will either shove it away from her or she will pick it up and throw it on the ground. And then follow that with looking at the ground saying, "uh oh." -Little stinker!
-I have already said it, but I will say it again. She LOVES LOVES LOVES food. Seriously anything and everything I give her she eats it up! She loves fresh fruit especially. I give her just about everything I eat and she has loved everything. She especially loves feeding herself. As do I - it makes things so much easier. She can eat while I clean the kitchen, etc. She loves tuna fish sandwiches, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, french toast, scrambled eggs, peas, carrots, chicken nuggets, beans and rice, and the list goes on. She also LOVES whole milk. And water.
-She is such a bottle girl. As soon as she sees her bottle anywhere she keeps saying "ba ba.. ba ba" until I hand it to her.
-She loves Daddy. When she wakes up in the morning or from her nap she says "Dad" or "Hi" over and over. She can also lay in her crib and talk for at least a half hour - sometimes longer when she wakes up. I especially love listening to her in the monitor.
-She is getting a lot more cuddly which I am LOVING.
-She is talking a lot. Her main words are Hi, Dad, Mom (on occassion), ba-ba, uh-oh, Papa, wassat (while pointing at something), and when you ask her what the kitty says she says "owww." We go to my in-laws and she just stares at the cats saying oww oww over and over it is so cute.
-She loves the shopping cart and shopping. She thinks she is such a big girl! She turns around in the cart so she can see where we are going. And while we are shopping she says hi to everyone we pass.
-She literally has the longest eyelashes. I can't go anywhere without someone saying something about how long her eyelashes are. (Or about how cute she is!)
-She loves opening and closing anything.
-She loves the dryer. Whenever I am putting clothes in or taking them out she likes to take pull clothes out and throw them on the floor or take clothes and put them in the dryer.
-She is very smart. She knows who Jesus is. She is on the other side of the room than the picture of Jesus and you ask her where Jesus is. She looks over toward the picture and points. And when we are looking at a family picture I ask her where Daddy is. She points right at Kelly and then I ask where Mommy is and she moves her arm and points at me. :)
-Still loves her binky!
-She loves to ride in the car. I am going to keep her rear facing for probably 5 or 6 more months and then move her so she faces out. She will love that day!
-She loves her bath. She loves to play and splash the water everywhere.
-Her hair is definitely getting a lot thicker.
-If she is holding something and you try to take it away she starts screaming and throws her arms everywhere making it nearly impossible to grab whatever she has. It is really funny!
-She loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
-I just noticed yesterday she got her 7th tooth! I was shocked. I haven't felt her gums in probably a week so who knows when it came through!
-She is SO close to walking. She will stand on her own but I think she just gets too nervous to walk. Any day now!
-She goes to sleep so good. (I still recommend to EVERY parent to let your child cry themselves to sleep. They will learn SO quickly that it is bedtime and very quickly will go to sleep without even crying.) It has been 3 months since we first let her cry herself to sleep and now pretty much every time she lays down to go to sleep she doesn't even cry. She is so good. Bedtime is still 7:30 and she sleeps straight through till somewhere between 8-8:30 in the morning. And she is becoming a much better napper!
-No more morning bottles for Rylee! A couple weeks ago she decided she didn't want a 6 a.m. bottle anymore!
-She loves the water! I bought a Seven Peaks pass and we will definitely be there a lot this summer. (along with everyone else and their dog)
-She is so BUSY. And I mean BUSY. We tell people she is so busy and their response is, "Yep, babies sure are busy!" No, you don't get it. She is so all over the place nonstop all day long. Up and down the stairs, bouncing, crawling fast everywhere, getting into everything. I (jokingly) tell Kelly I think she has ADHD. haha. Some babies are so relaxed and chill. Rylee - not so much. :)
-She loves having her hair brushed, teeth brushed, and ears cleaned out.
-She waves bye-bye and hi all the time. A couple months ago she did it once just barely but never did it after that. A few weeks ago she did it all on her own and now she does it all the time. It is so cute.
-She points at everything constantly and says, "wassat."
-She loves to lay her head down on her tray while she is eating in her high chair. It is so cute. She'll lay her head down and then sit back up and you ask her, "ohh, are you sleepy?" and she'll lay her head back down.

Ok, that is a really long list. I mainly did it for myself because I will admit I am horrible at writing in her journal. I have been good at writing down dates of EVERYTHING so far but writing about stuff I have been really bad. Hope you enjoyed - if you actually read it.

I love this girl SO MUCH and I really can't imagine life without her in it. I am so blessed she is mine forever!!
