Look who is here...and early!

2 weeks and 1 day early!

Giving birth to this precious baby girl was the most amazing thing in the world. And I definitely didn't expect it to be as quick and easy as it was! We are so in love with her and can't imagine life without her. I am so lucky to be her Mommy and for Kelly to be her Daddy. She is already a Daddy's girl I can tell. Whenever anyone else is holding her and she hears his voice she looks around for him. She is always sticking her feet straight out in the air. When I was pregnant with her she would always stick both her feet and kick me in the right side when I was laying on my left side. Which explains why she sticks her feet straight in the air now! It is so adorable.
So onto the birth story...it is quite the story. :) Sorry it is so long...I was mainly typing it all up for myself so I don't forget anything. Friday morning I woke up and started getting ready for work. Around 6:30 am I started leaking fluid. Just a very small leak. It would start and then stop...over and over. Then it completely stopped. I didn't really think anything of it cause it definitely didn't seem like it could be my water breaking but I just wasn't sure. So I went downstairs and started eating breakfast and making my lunch. This was at about 7:30 am. And then it happened again. I went back upstairs and woke Kelly up and said "I keep leaking fluid, it's weird." In my head I kept thinking it was my water breaking but I just kept saying no way... So I decided it would be best to call my boss and tell her I would be late for work...and so I did. Then I called labor and delivery and they told me just to come in they can't diagnose me over the phone. I kept thinking I don't want to go all the way over to the hospital and them just send me home. That would suck! So I decided to just sit on the bed for a bit and see what happened. At this point I was just crying cause I didn't know what to do! Kelly kept saying "Why are you crying? This is supposed to be exciting if that's what it is and you are crying!?" haha. I was just very emotional and anxious and didn't know what to do. So I just continued to sit there...30 minutes later nothing was happening so I went to work. When I got there I started leaking a little more and decided to call my doctors office and see what they said. They said the same thing...so I called Kelly and said I really just think we should go to the hospital and get checked. Especially because I was positive for group B strep and if it was my water then I would need to be started on an antibiotic right away. Kelly came and got me. We got to the hospital about 11 am. They took me back and did a little test. They got a strip of green paper and swiped it across the fluid. If it turns blue, it is amniotic fluid. It didn't change color. They did another test just to be sure. Another strip of paper and a swab in my cervix. The paper changed color this time to blue and the swab they looked at under a microscope to see if they could see any amniotic fluid. They only saw one spot of amniotic fluid under the microscope. So then they had to do ANOTHER test. They have to hold the swab in my cervix for 1 minute and then stick it in fluid for another minute. They said they would have the results back in about 30 minutes, but to pretty much plan on staying cause there was only a 5% chance it was negative! I was freaking out at this point. I was SO not planning on my baby coming so early! I was so excited but so nervous! I had just had my 38 week visit the day before and met with Dr. Broberg. The same doctor that was on call when I got to the hospital. At my appointment the day before he told me to mentally plan on my baby being 2 days late, but if she comes tomorrow then I can celebrate. HE TOTALLY JINXED IT and I told him that when he came in the room. It was so funny. Not even 30 minutes later...maybe like 5 minutes they came back and said yep you are staying! By the time they started my iv with pitocin and penicillin it was about 1 pm or a little after. Before they started me on pitocin I was dilated to 1 1/2 and 50% effaced. By 3 I was at a 3 and 60% effaced. That is when Dr. Broberg broke my water completely. Wow that was a fun experience. :) My stomach looked hilarious cause it wasn't all tight anymore. And I felt like gallons of water was coming out...and it wouldn't stop! A little while after he broke my water, her heartrate dropped so they had to put some liquid back inside to cushion it better because they thought either the cord was around her neck or she was laying on it. They also placed an internal monitor. I went for quite a while without getting an epidural cause I have heard it slows down your progression. At about 5 pm I was still dilated to a 3 and the contractions were really painful so I decided to get the epidural...cause I have also heard that getting the epidural relaxes you so you can dilate faster. I was pretty surprised at how long I went without getting one. I just didn't know really WHEN I should or what people usually do?! The nurse said that most people would have gotten it long before I did. So I got the epidural...the nurse came and checked me a little after 6 pm. I was now dilated to a 5 and 90% effaced...still a while to go! (So we thought) She came and checked me at about 7:30 pm. As she was checking me she said do you feel lots of pressure? I said no...I can't feel anything. She said well the baby's head is low...like really low...and you are complete. UMM are you kidding me? It was time ALREADY!? I was freaking out and my whole body started shaking. I was so nervous! They called Dr. Gamette to let him know and then at about 7:45 pm I started pushing with the nurse. Every contraction I would push 3 times, 10 seconds each. I only did 3 sets with the nurse. When Dr. Gamette got there I pushed 4 times and she was out. Seeing her the first time when she came out was the most amazing feeling in the world. Definitely one I can't describe. I just cried and said over and over "oh my gosh! oh my gosh!" After they cleaned her up and weighed her and everything they gave her to me. Oh my gosh I cannot describe how I was feeling holding my baby for the first time. I will always remember every move she made and every noise she made. I just kissed her over and over and kept looking at Kelly and crying because I was so happy. After I held her for a little while they had to take her away. My poor baby didn't cry when she came out, just kept grunting so they had to take her to the NICU and put her on the CPAP machine for an hour. After that hour everything was fine. I however, was not fine! I had to sit in my room all alone while Kelly was with our baby! Finally my family came in the room to sit with me for a while but it was still what seemed like days before I got to see her again. Finally, at about 11 pm or so (3 hours after I had her) I got to see her again!!! Oh I just wanted to hold her and cuddle with her. We didn't get much sleep that night cause we were up so late with her just amazed at her and that she was finally here. We love her so much!!! Giving birth is just so amazing. She is so amazing. We love her more than words can describe! We can't wait to see what the future holds for us as her parents! She is such a beautiful baby girl and we feel so blessed to be able to be her parents and raise her! My birthing experience was so incredible and I can't wait to do it again.

Getting bigger and bigger!

So I am almost 37 weeks! Holy moly look at that belly! I am sure getting huge and almost ready to pop and you can definitely see it in my face haha. My sister and Mother in law threw me a baby shower last night and it was SO much fun! I got lots of great stuff I needed and we are pretty much all set now.
Just a few more things to buy. All the yummy food at the shower.
Reading a card and opening gifts. This baby is so spoiled already!
She got so much stuff.Me, my mother and sister in law and Halle.
I got so much stuff but was too lazy to lay it all out. But there was a lot of stuff!!
Here is her ADORABLE cradle! This cradle has been used by all Kelly's siblings and sisters kids and now it is our turn to use it. It used to be an oak color, but Kelly resprayed it and refinished it and my mother in law totally surprised me and made all the bedding to go in it. I LOVE IT!!! This little girl is so lucky to have such a wonderful family and I am blessed to have such wonderful in-laws. Thanks guys for everything and for the fun fun shower!!

Maternity Pictures

I got some maternity pictures done a couple weeks ago. The girl that did them needed some for her portfolio and asked me to do them. These are a few of my favorites. I can't believe I only have 5 weeks left until my due date! Well now 4 weeks and 5 days to be exact... :) I really can't wait to meet this baby girl, but I am definitely enjoying the time I have left with just me and Kelly...and actually being pregnant. I have loved being pregnant. Even with the fatigue, all over body aches, and all other fun things that come with pregnancy, I have loved it. Not every woman gets to experience pregnancy and I am so so grateful that I get to. I love every move she makes. Kelly and I will just sit in bed and night and while I am laying on my left side she moves the most. We just both sit there and laugh and say "woah! holy cow!" over and over. We try to figure out what body parts are now cause we can feel them so well. Pretty sure we feel her foot in the same spot every time. I really can't believe how quickly my pregnancy has gone. After I have her it is going to be so weird not seeing me pregnant just cause I am so used to having this big belly! And I am so used to feeling her move. I just can't wait till I can actually see her! Soon enough!

Birthdays!

Kelly's 26th birthday was on the 23rd and my 24th birthday was yesterday the 29th. We love having our birthdays so close together! We usually celebrate them together, but this year we celebrated each of our birthdays on our actual birthday. For Kelly's birthday I made him dinner the night before (Sunday night) and made him crepes Monday morning on his birthday. I got up super early just so I could make them for him and be to work by 8! Yeah I am crazy, but I had lots of fun doing it. That night we had cake and ice cream.Yesterday, Kelly made me breakfast burritos and later we went to Tucanos for a late lunch/early dinner! It was delicious! But we drank way too much brazilian lemonade and ate too much meat...but it was sooo worth it! Later that evening we had cake and ice cream.I had to put this picture up...Owen's face is hilarious.

Baby Shower!

My sister and Mom threw me a way fun baby shower last week! I had tons of family and friends come and got tons of stuff I needed! My mother in law made the way cute quilt...I LOVE it!! The picture is of me at 33 1/2 weeks...I am getting big! And the last picture is the big pile of stuff we got! We got quite a bit of stuff!! I am having another shower in a couple weeks and am looking foward to that one as well! It was so fun going through everything and showing Kelly everything I got when we got home. I am so grateful for such good family and friends that support us! I can't wait for this baby girl to get here!

Almost 32 weeks!

Today I had my 32 week check up. Everything looks great! She is head down and I am measuring perfectly. My weight gain is also right on. Last appointment I took my glucose test, but they never called me which was a good thing. Today they told me that they like it to be under 140 and mine was only 107! Awesome. So glad I didn't have to take the 3 hour glucose test. That would have sucked! It really is hard to believe I only have 8 or so weeks left. This pregnancy has flown by and I have loved every minute of it. I just can't wait to see her and hold her in my arms. I am hopefully getting some maternity pictures done in the next week or so...My first baby shower is on the 25th. I am excited to finally get some stuff for her! So far we have bought quite a few clothes, a travel system, a rocking chair, and her crib. Her cradle is actually one that Kelly and all his siblings (except his oldest brother) slept in. Kelly is going to refinish it and it will look so cute! We also got a few other baby things from my sister in law. Time is going so quickly! We bought the cutest fabric and are going to make her crib bedding. I can't wait till her entire room is all put together! It will be so cute. The crib is on back order so we won't get it for another few weeks, but once we get it and her room is put together I will put up some pictures!

30 weeks?!

Holy smokes! Where has the time gone? I really cannot believe how fast time flown by. I am 3/4 done and have only 1/4 of the time left! 10 weeks will be here before we know it! I can't wait to meet this little girl and hold her! She is constantly moving and only sits on the right side, it's funny. I tighten my stomach muscles and the left side goes in but the right stays the same, hilarious. She also loves to kick me in the ribs, but I love knowing she is doing just fine in there! We both think it's hilarious when she sticks what we think may be either her foot, knee, or heel (or something roundish) right against my belly and we can both feel a roundish shape for a second and then she will move it. We really enjoy feeling her move around and watching my belly go crazy! Being pregnant is such an amazing feeling and I love every move or hiccup she makes. I already love this little girl so much and I really can't wait to be her mommy!

25 weeks

I love being pregnant. I can't believe how fast the time has gone already and how fast I grow. Looking and comparing my weekly pictures is fun. My belly just gets bigger and bigger every week. This past weekend Kelly and I went to Park City and did some baby shopping. So much fun! In the next month or so we are going to buy a crib and pretty soon we are going to start getting her room put together. Before I was pregnant I thought 9 months was going to drag on forever, but I can't believe how fast time has gone so far. Last night I was laying there talking to Kelly about how much things are going to change once this baby comes. I almost wanted to cry because it will never be just the two of us again, but also I am so happy and look forward to having this baby and growing our family. I feel so blessed to be able to carry this baby and I can't wait to meet her! This weekend was the first time Kelly has really felt her and he loved it! A couple weeks ago he could barely feel any movement. She is constantly moving all during work, but when I come home she moves here and there and every time I would tell him to hurry and come feel, of course she would stop moving! I loved that he finally got to feel her! He couldn't believe how hard she was kicking. I love it. I love every time she moves. Even when she kicks down and it feels like her foot is going to come out or she is kicking right on my bladder I love it. I love knowing she is healthy and alive and moving. Only 15 (ish) more weeks!!! I also have the best husband ever! A few weeks ago I stopped by his shop on my way home from work and this is what he was building...for me! I LOVE it. It is so gorgeous and adds so much to our living room.

Baby kicks

So this week has really been the first week I have felt the baby move, and WOW she is one active baby. Especially today. I really can't wait for Kelly to feel her. Last night we were laying in bed and she kept kicking in one spot and Kelly would hurry and put his hand on my stomach but he couldn't feel it. I thought he would be able to, but I guess not yet! I can't wait till he can. I can't wait until we can see my stomach move in all sorts of funny ways. So far this pregnancy has been SO great. I am still wearing all my normal clothes and I feel fantastic. I am exercising almost every day and eating really healthy. Of course I have my cravings, but am doing so well and not giving in! (almost all of the time...ha ha.) I am really enjoying my pee breaks every 5 minutes too. :) Sense the sarcasm? I really love being pregnant, especially now since I am just getting to the really fun part of pregnancy. I really can't wait for summer to get here though, and to meet this little gal! Tomorrow I am 22 weeks...only 18 (ish) more to go!
